  • Civil engineering is the oldest branch of engineering. It is considered as second oldest engineering discipline after military engineering.
  • Examples of civil engineering are Dams, Roads, Railways, Bridges, Buildings, Airports etc.
  • The person who is responsible for Design, Construction and Maintenance called as civil engineer
  • Quality of civil engineering work depends on the knowledge of civil engineer who is handling the given project. 


Merits/Advantages of M-tech in Civil Engineering

Demerits/Disadvantages of M-tech in Civil Engineering

  • Barrier for carrier advancements in the corporate world

  • Less chances of getting government jobs because in almost all the exams the basic qualification is B-tech.
  • Very tough curriculum, students need hard work to complete their course 
  • Civil engineering gives more weightage to field work as compare to M-tech
  • Hard to get job without experience if you complete your M-tech degree first
  • Placement scenario of M-tech is little bit bad than B-tech
