- Civil engineering is the oldest branch of engineering. It is considered as second oldest engineering discipline after military engineering.

Merits/Advantages of M-tech in Civil Engineering

Demerits/Disadvantages of M-tech in Civil Engineering
- Barrier for carrier advancements in the corporate world
- Less chances of getting government jobs because in almost all the exams the basic qualification is B-tech.
- Very tough curriculum, students need hard work to complete their course
- Civil engineering gives more weightage to field work as compare to M-tech
- Hard to get job without experience if you complete your M-tech degree first
- Placement scenario of M-tech is little bit bad than B-tech
